Bank of China president Li Lihui has stepped down from his role to be replaced by vice president Chen Siqing reports China’s Beijing’s News.
According to the newspaper, Mr Li will go on to work for the financial and economic committee under the National People's Congress.
Mr Li has served as president of the bank for close to 10 years.
Chen Siqing joined Bank of China in 1990 and has been vice president since June 2008.
